Huge Chunk of I-75 Northbound & Southbound to Close for Construction

If your plans include anything in the Motor City this weekend, things may get a little hairy. A large section of I-75 will be closed in both directions for construction.

Crews are expected to close both northbound and southbound I-75 between I-696 and Square Lake Rd in Oakland County.

The closure is expected to begin at 11 pm Friday (9/20) and crews plan to have the freeway reopened by 5 am Monday, according to MDOT.

Crews will be performing pavement repair work and demolishing the Dallas Avenue overpass.
