Hero 5-Year-Old Ohio Boy Saves Parents from Heroin Overdose [VIDEO]
"Mom and Dad's dead," 5-year-old Aidan yelled to his grandfather. "Mom and Dad's dead!"
The Ohio boy had found his parents lying unconscious upstairs in their home. He immediately ran barefoot -- in the dark -- to his grandfather's house, two and a half blocks away. Kenny Currey tells WCPO that he always encourages his grandson to talk to him if anything is wrong.
The couple had buckled their younger child in her car seat, and used a nearly-lethal dose of heroin while they were getting ready to go to work.
In a Facebook post that's been shared over 11,000 times, Middletown Police call the young boy a hero.
"This 5-year-old child, a hero, saved three lives today. How can something so awesome be so sad all at the same time?"
