Healing Hands Walk/Run Provides Much-Needed Revenue
The Genesee County Free Medical Clinic does not receive any federal funding, relying exclusively on volunteer and financial support from hospitals, local businesses, individuals, and fundraisers such as the Healing Hands Run/Walk.
Stacey Doyle is the Executive Director of the clinic. She says the Healing Hands event brings in approximately one-third of clinic's operating income.
"The clinic provides free primary medical care to patients who are not insured or underserved in Genesee County," Doyle says. "By providing primary care to our patients, we empower them to be proactive about their health and it helps keep our local emergency rooms focused on their purpose."
