It's being called the least-enthusiastic play of a game-winning play ever.

The Grand Valley State University Lakers were winning on Saturday night (right up until the point when they weren't) in their Division II game against the Ashland Eagles. And then a Hail Mary. With just seconds on the clock, Austin Brenner threw an impressive 52-yard touchdown pass to give the Eagles a 20-17 victory.

And Tom Cleary, who was calling the game for ESPN could not have been less enthused. (See the video below.)

Awful Announcing reports that ESPN often uses local announcers for this level of college football and says Cleary is employed by Grand Valley as an announcer for its sports network.

But it's said that the ESPN broadcast is supposed to be impartial - and the call of a last-minute upset like this should have been, let's say, a tad bit more enthusiastic.

It was a bit underwhelming.
