
Grand Blanc Police Release Bodycam Footage of Church Shooting
Grand Blanc Township police have released body camera footage from Sunday’s deadly shooting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, showing officers taking down the suspected gunman outside the building. The incident left five people dead, including the shooter, and 10 others injured.

Police Chief William Renye praised the officers’ efforts at a press conference earlier today (Friday, Oct. 3).
Timeline of Events
According to Detroit’s WXYZ-TV, Renye also outlined the timeline of events after the first 911 call was received Sunday morning.
He said a DNR Conservation officer was the first on the scene, arriving within two minutes of the initial call. A Grand Blanc Township officer arrived just one minute later.
Renye noted that the entire incident lasted just under four minutes.
Officers' Response and Bodycam Footage
A total of 10 shots were fired by officers, according to the chief: two from the DNR officer and eight from the Grand Blanc Township officer. He also noted that both officers are currently on administrative leave following the incident, which is standard protocol after an event like this.
