With COVID-19 cases on the rise in Michigan. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is expected to announce tomorrow that she will extend the current "Stay Home, Stay Safe" executive order.

During a interview Wednesday with Grand Rapids television station WOOD, Whitmer said the stay-at-home order would be extended. Whitmer told the station,“We will make an announcement tomorrow on all the different pieces of the Stay Home, Stay Safe order.”

By Wednesday afternoon the number of cases in Michigan had reached 20,300 with at least 959 deaths.  There is no word on how long the extension would be, but the Michigan Legislature did already approved a 23-day extension on Tuesday. The current oder went into effect on March 24th and is due to expire on April 13th.

Gov. Whitmer will hold her press conference starting at 3:00pm on Thursday, April 9th.
