Unparalleled Luxury: A Glimpse Inside Flint’s ‘New’ Hotel Haven
There's some new life brewing off of Hill Road in Flint that's bringing back one of the most popular hotel destinations in Genesee County.
The former Holiday Inn at Gateway Center has opened its doors with a new name and a new look. With a fresh perspective and a stunning makeover, the iconic location you've known and loved has transformed into a haven of modern elegance and comfort. Say hello to sleek designs, upgraded amenities, and a vibe that's all about embracing the new while still offering everything you loved in the past.
Say hello to the Gateway Center Hotel & Convention Center! Since it was built in 1990, the location has been popular for large events such as weddings, conventions, class reunions, and more since it's the largest banquet facility in Genesee County holding up to 750 people. Like so many businesses, the pandemic saw the hotel closing its doors, but that made way for the current owners to get to work on their vision of a new and improved full-service hotel.
Now after spending $4 million to renovate and refurbish the hotel and convention center, the team at Gateway Hotel & Convention Center are back bigger and better than ever with their eye on the future in a big way.
"We are looking to create corporate deals for travelers, and also partner with Bishop Airpost for the pilots and crew coming in that might need rooms", said Amanda Felker owner of Brilliant Marketing Co. & Agency who is helping spearhead the new launch. "It's the only property at the moment that offers banquet rooms, a restaurant & bar, and a place to stay. With the amazing indoor pool area, we are looking at doing special pizza pool parties for children as well."
Felker also revealed a new menu for the restaurant with such items as Honey Bourbon Beef Tips, Oysters Rockefeller, signature salads, and Prosciutto Wrapped Sea Bass. There are also plans to bring the community vibe to the venue with local wines and bakery items. The goal is to be once again THE place for accommodations, special events, and community engagement.
Reservations are currently being taken with rooms starting at $119 per night. Special events are already underway and dates are filling up quickly. Call (810) 232-5300 to book a stay or plan your next event.
