Freezing Rain Could Make Travel Difficult, Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Tonight [VIDEO]
Sleet, snow, and freezing rain are expected tonight and could make for hazardous driving conditions Wednesday (2/6) morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee, and Monroe counties beginning from 1 am Wednesday until 1 pm Wednesday.
Widespread freezing rain, with some sleet, is expected to spread across the area tonight through Wednesday morning. This may change over to rain before ending in the
afternoon due to warming temperatures. Total ice accumulations of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch are expected.
The NWS says that hazardous and slick road conditions are likely and could make travel difficult especially on untreated roads, bridges, ramps, and overpasses.
Similar Winter Weather Advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for numerous counties in Michigan's lower peninsula.
