Flint Native Kyle Kuzma Providing Thanksgiving Meals for Needy Families

The Flint-based Kyle Kuzma Family Foundation is teaming up with Mott Community College to donate and serve 600 free Thanksgiving meals to Flint Residents.

The giveaway will take place Monday, November 25 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.

Who is Kyle Kuzma?

You may remember Kuzman as a high school basketball player for Swartz Creek Schools and later Bentley High School. He went on to play for the University of Utah Utes before signing with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017.

The Flint native joined the Washington Wizards in 2021 where he plays as a forward. He was honored as a member of the NBA All-Rookie Team in 2018.

Kuzma has described Flint as "a really violent place [where] there's a lot of temptation to get into the streets," but says basketball helped keep him out of trouble as it was a "safe haven" for him.

Kyle Kuzman Foundation Feeds Flint Families

The foundation is donating and serving 600 Thanksgiving meals for Flint families in partnership with Mott Community College's Culinary Arts Institute and the Michigan Transportation Authority.

The food giveaway will be at the Mott Community College Culinary Art Institute, 550 Saginaw St. in Flint from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.

Transportation from Franklin Avene Mission Church, Our Savior Lutheran Church, and various senior living facilities will be available.

The NBA star and his mother Karri Kuzman founded the Kyle Kuzma Foundation to positively impact the lives of single mothers and their children. The foundation continues to champion initiatives that champion families in Michigan and beyond.
