Two new charges have been filed against Dr. Eden Wells in connection

 

 

with the Flint water crisis and an outbreak of Legionnaire's disease in 2014 and 2015. The Chief Medical Executive for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services now faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and misconduct in office.

Wells' boss, Nick Lyon, also faces involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of 85-year-old Robert Skidmore, whose death has been linked to the water crisis.

In light of the new charges, the cases against Lyon and Wells are on hold until November. If convicted, Wells could face 15 years in prison.
