Detroit Lions Superfan Nominated for Ford Hall of Fans
Michael Banks is a diehard Detroit Lions superfan and he's hoping to get voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fans.
The Ford motor company and the Pro Football Hall of Fame are looking for the most-dedicated NFL fans in the country. Banks is a veteran and a police officer at the Detroit Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He's one of six finalists trying for a spot in the Hall of Fans.
"I've been a fan of the Detroit Lions all my life. I'm a Detroiter. The Lions stand for blue-collar," Banks said in the nomination video. His favorite player, Barry Sanders surprised Banks at his Detroit home. "I love you, Barry, one day I'm gonna try to talk to you," said Banks before the surprise visit. Check out the video here.
Even if he doesn't win the vote, Banks got the experience of a lifetime and got to meet his idol Barry Sanders.
