Detroit Federal Judge Approves Settlement Between Deja Vu, Dancers [VIDEO]
Just so you know, the video below is perfectly safe for viewing at work, although the music may have your coworkers wondering what the hell you're watching.
A federal judge in Detroit has approved a $6.5 million suit, as exotic dancers take on entertainment giant Deja Vu.
The class action suit, filed on behalf of 28,000 dancers nationwide, boils down to whether dancers are to be considered full-fledged employees or contract laborers.
Moving forward, Deja Vu will be required to use a specific formula to determine if each of its workers will be paid as an employee, or an independent contractor. According to the Detroit Free Press, those who don't opt for cash and wish to continue as independent contractors will share in a $4.5 million pool of credits to offset the fees the clubs charged them to perform.
