Davison and Powers Are One Win Away From Ford Field
Two Genesee County teams are still in the hunt for a state championship, and both Davison and Powers are only one win away from getting their chance.
Davison faced off against a very tough Utica Eisenhower team in the Regional finals. The Cardinals took charge with their high powered offense, taking out Utica 35 to 7. You can check out highlights from that game below.
The road doesn't get any easier for Davison as they get ready for the semi-finals. Davison will take on Sterling Heights Stevenson on Saturday in Troy. Kickoff for the semi final game will be at 1pm.
Powers also punched their ticket to the semi-finals with a big win over Pontiac Notre Dame. Most of the experts did not expect Powers to advance, but they have proved all the critics wrong. Powers has been outworking opponents during this playoff run, scratching out low scoring wins.
Now Powers is facing off against Detroit Country Day on Saturday at 1pm. The game will be in Howell at Parker Middle School.Country Day will be the toughest opponent of the season for Powers, but don't count the Chargers out. They've shown grit and toughness that deserve respect this post season, and they are as dangerous as anyone.
Hopefully this time next week, both Powers and Davison will be planning their trip to Ford Field to win another state championship. Good Luck!
