When I think of the Flint River, I don't think of a nice soak in the tub or a tall glass of tasty drinking water.

How about you?

We've all heard the jokes about the river being a local favorite dumping ground for bodies, body parts and any kind of trash you can imagine. As of mid April, though, the Flint River will have a new purpose. It will be Flint's water source.

The city recently ended its long standing arrangement to buy water from Lake Huron via Detroit. A new pipeline is being built by Flint and several other communities, but it won't be complete until 2016.

Flint officials say the Flint River will be a cheaper water source for the city of Flint, but how will it taste and will you be clean after a shower?

There is some reassurance in the fact that the city has planned $7 million in upgrades to its' current water treatment facility.

Do you think the Flint River is a safe and viable source of water for Flint? Would you drink the water?
