Christmas Ad Featuring Elton John Wins the Internet [VIDEO]

The gift of music -- that's the message in this touching ad for John Lewis and Partners featuring Sir Elton John.

It begins with Elton sitting alone at an old upright piano as he begins to play 'Your Song.' His life seems to flash before his eyes -- backward -- as the commercial shows clips from his storied life. He sings in concert, dancing on top of a piano in front of a roaring crowd. He's then seen singing in a bar and in a school, all leading back to the moment in time when he received a life-changing gift: The same upright piano at which he's seated at the beginning of the clip.

Sure, it's a commercial designed to sell musical instruments for John Lewis and Partners, but it conveys such a powerful message about the importance of the gift of music.

Maybe if my parents would have gotten me a piano instead of a record player when I was a kid ...
