Next week, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint host former Michigan State champion and Flint native Mateen Cleaves' summer basketball camps.

Over 300 Flint youth are expected to attend the first-ever "One Goal. One Passion" camps. The three-day camps will provide a platform to encourage kids to make healthy choices for their minds and bodies which will include a focus on basic life skills such as goal-setting, self-esteem exercises, health and nutrition education and of course, basketball drills!

Besides Cleaves, the camps will feature a roster of professional athletes, NBA players and Spartans including the “Flintstones” Morris Peterson, Antonio Smith and Charlie Bell.

The camps will run Tuesday, August 6 to Thursday, August 8. Online registration (click here) is still available through Friday.
