You can hear the gasps in the audience when Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg used the N-word on "The View" as they discussed the controversy which surrounds Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry. It has recently surfaced that the Texas governor has ties to hunting grounds long been referred to as "N-----head."

Sherri Shepherd took offense to Walters' use of the word, but seemed less offended when it was used by Goldberg. "When I heard you say it, it was fine," Shepherd told Goldberg. "You [Walters] said it a different way."

Should news organizations be able to utter or print the word, if it's used in the context of news?  The video below is bleeped, and safe for at-work viewing.
