An organized crime ring known as the Felony Lane Gang is suspected in a robbery which happened in Grand Blanc Township. The group -- which primarily targets women -- is believed to be rooted in Florida, and began infiltrating Michigan in 2016.

Police tell ABC-12 a purse was stolen from a parking lot of a business on Holly Rd. in Grand Blanc Township, and documents from the stolen bag were used to forge the owner's identity and create counterfeit checks, which is consistent with crimes committed by the Felony Lane Gang.

Police say the crime ring targets unattended vehicles in parking lots at gyms, daycare facilities, and other establishments where women may tend to leave bags in their vehicles.

As we reported in May of 2016, the gang not only steals from vehicles, but is also looking to recruit and train member to join the crime ring.
