Not only were the kids excited to see their teachers ahead of the first day, but they were also excited to get new school supplies.

Administrators and teachers from Atherton Elementary went on a "bus tour" on Monday to neighborhoods around the district, handing out school supplies.

In three hours, they hit ten different stops. The supplies were purchased through a school activity fund. Teachers say that it gives them peace of mind to know that their students will have these items crossed off their back-to-school list; items like hand sanitizer, to keep the kids healthy, are especially important. The staff said that the kids always come to THEM at school; now, they wanted to come to the kids.

Goes without saying, but this is just another one of the millions of reasons that teachers should be paid more.
