The Art Van Furniture building on Court St. in Burton and others in Michigan and Illinois are for sale, but the retail giant has no plans to close stores.

B+E, the real estate company who serves as Art Van's landlord, is selling the building occupied by the furniture retailer in Burton, Howell, Livonia, Shelby Township, and Schaumburg, Illinois.

Art Van notes that the sale of the buildings is a real estate transaction and will not impact local operations.

A spokesman for B+E says the sale represents an excellent opportunity for an investor.

“This is an excellent investment opportunity providing a lengthy, strong return with an established 60-year-old retail business,” said Tim Hain, with B+E. “The master lease also has built-in annual 2% increases providing an increasing return over the life of the base term and is guaranteed by Art Van Furniture Inc.”
