Amazon Now Using Boxes That Can Be Made Into Cat Condos, Forts
It's my cat in a box, my cat in a box baaaaaabe.
If you're anything like us and you have a cat (or two, or more) in the house, you probably snag your Amazon delivery boxes from UPS, empty out the contents and drop the box on the floor for your furry friend(s). They jump in it and get comfortable (if I fitz, I sitz, amirite?) and then, about four minutes later, they're gone.
I'm not necessarily sure that this new move by Amazon will actually KEEP your cat in the box any longer than that but at least they're trying.
The mega-company has announced that starting this week, they'll be delivering some products more "environmentally-friendly" boxes that can be recycled into...wait for it...cat condos. And forts. And a mini-golf windmill. Yes, really.
It's part of their "Less Packaging, More Smiles" program. If and when you receive one of these boxes, you can scan a QR code and it will send you to a website with instructions on how to turn said box into one of the above items.
Over the past few years, Amazon has reduced the weight of its packaging by about 33%, which is the equivalent of about 1.5 billion shipping boxes.
I don't know about you, but my cat makes a condo out of Amazon boxes as-is; I don't necessarily feel like I need special instructions or a special box. But, if I do receive one of these, I'll probably put it together anyway.
