11-Year-Old Michigan Girl Held at Gunpoint, Cuffed by Police [VIDEO]
Honestie Hodges says she once considered being a police officer when she grows up, but now wants nothing to do with it. The 11-year old's attitude changed once she was patted down, put in handcuffs, and held at gunpoint by Grand Rapids police.
“It made me feel scared and it made me feel like I did something wrong,” she tells WOOD-TV.
There was a heavy police presence near Hodges' home Wednesday (12/6) when Honestie left the house through the back door. Officers were looking for the girl's aunt, Carrie Manning, who was wanted for stabbing her little sister. However, Manning is a 40-year-old white woman and looks nothing like Honestie.
The Grand Rapids Police Department has begun an internal investigation.
