While we're in county fair mode, it's time to get ready for another one which starts on Monday. The Genesee County Fair will be held at E.A. Cummings Center in Mt. Morris. One new feature this year is Twiggy, the world famous water skiing squirrel who has been in several movies including "Dodgeball." There's going to be plenty of events happening throughout the week.

I haven't had a chance to go to this event so maybe I'll be able to stop by this year. On Saturday, the Flint Farmers' Market is hosting their annual BBQ Battle from 10am to 5pm and anyone is invited to come out to attend and even sample some food at the same time.
