Are you looking for something to do this weekend? There are several events going on, so the kids can't complain they're bored.

Festival season has kicked off, with the Hometown Days festival going on, as well as the Holy Redeemer Community festival. Carnival rides, cards, entertainment, specialty dinners and new this year is the pig roast dinner, along with fireworks. It was a lot of fun last year and they had really good Polish food, so come out all weekend to check everything out.

The Hometown Days festival is also going on in Swartz Creek. There are plenty of activities going on, including rides, car shows, Idol contest, a baby show and more. I haven't had a chance to go to Hometown Days, but several co-workers have said it's a great time and a lot of fun. Plus it's an excuse to eat an elephant ear while you're there.

Or maybe you want to take the kids to the Cultural Center, since they have a variety of exhibits going on. 100 Years of Chevrolet is currently on display at Sloan and remember to take advantage of Free Target Saturday's at the Flint Institute of Arts.

There's always time to stop by the Farmers market, either in Flint or Grand Blanc. The Flint Farmers market is open on Saturday but if you don't have time to get there, you can always stop by the Grand Blanc Farmers Market on Sunday. Both markets have great vendors, fresh produce and lots of activities going on.

Hopefully you'll have a chance to take advantage of all the great events going on this weekend.
