Stores Spying On Shoppers With Cameras In Mannequins
If you suffer from paranoia, you might not want to read this. Retail stores have found a new way to spy on you while you shop, and it may make you uneasy the next time you are in the stores. New technology now allows store mannequins, equipped with the proper technology to watch shoppers at their stores.
These anti-theft products are being sold to stores to help with internal security. The EyeSee technology lets the mannequin look like any other, but a camera is inserted into the eye that uses facial recognition software. It also tracks the age, race, and gender of shoppers who pass it's vision.
Some people are afraid of the 'big brother" concept of someone watching you all the time, but stores say the information it gets also helps with security and sales planning.
