Run For Roots 4-Miler Saturday in Grand Blanc

The Run For Roots 4-mile run/walk will take place Saturday morning at Miller's Greenhouse on Perry Road in Grand Blanc. The race winds through country roads and local subdivisions on a flat and fast course. Race starts at 9 am, race-day registration at 7:30 at Miller's Greenhouse, 6842 Perry Road, Grand Blanc, Mi 48439.

This race was a fixture on the Flint running schedule for years, but hasn't been held since 2006. It's good to have it back.

Four miles is a good distance for early-season runners. If you haven't been out for much training yet, you can probably handle 4 miles. If it gives you more of a challenge than you bargained for, keep training and you'll be ready for the next one.

This event also gives you a good excuse to check out the plants and flowers at Miller's Greenhouse. It is getting to be gardening season.
