The cork will pop on the inaugural Run 4 Wine 4-miler on Thursday, October 11th at the Jewel of Grand Blanc Golf Course. The race starts at 6 p.m. and participants will be treated to wine tastings, great food and prizes and entertainment.
Grand Blanc's Geena Gall becomes the Flint area's second Olympian for the 2012 London Games as she qualified second in the 800 meter finals last night at Oregon's Hayward Field. Gall put on a furious kick with about 200 meters to go to pass several runners and grab a spot on the Olympic team.
Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc offers something for everyone in the family. There are baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a sledding hill in the winter, and just finished this spring, a paved walking trail.
The Run For Roots 4-mile run/walk will take place Saturday morning at Miller's Greenhouse on Perry Road in Grand Blanc. The race winds through country roads and local subdivisions on a flat and fast course. Race starts at 9 am, race-day registration at 7:30 at Miller's Greenhouse, 6842 Perry Road, Grand Blanc, Mi 48439.
The owners of Le Grand Bistro in the Grand Mall in Grand Blanc have known hardship in the past. Now that they are in a position to give back, they are doing so in a big way. On Christmas Day, Le Grand Bistro will serve Christmas dinner to over 200 free of charge. David Eckles and Bernice Mount are happy to be able to help those in need on Christmas day. Le Grand Bistro is located in the Grand Mall on S. Saginaw in Grand Blanc.
It's time for the 5th Annual Grand Blanc Family Funfest. There will be carnival rides and concessions, a family activity tent, and a beer and entertainment tent too! It all happens right in downtown Grand Blanc this weekend, beginning this evening at 5pm with the carnival rides. There will also be pie-eating contests, a Halloween costume sale, and a karaoke contest.

Thousands are expected in Physician's Park this weekend for the 13th Annual Grand Blanc Summer Art Fair. It runs both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Weekend events include first, second, and third place awards for "Best in Show". There will also be a silent auction.
Halo Burger will host a ground breaking ceremony for it's new location in Grand Blanc tomorrow at 1:30 pm. The new Halo Burger will be located at 8020 Holly Road just 500 yards south of Grand Blanc High School and just north of the Trillium Theater complex.
