Taylor Scout Smith died suddenly this weekend after suffering complications related to Pneumonia. As her family took on the unbearable task of going through Taylor's things and cleaning out her room, they found a sealed envelope containing a letter the 12-year old had written to her future self.

Smith's father read's the girl's touching and inspirational words that were meant to be read by her ten years later, at age 22. She reminds herself to go to church. She asks about college and what she's majoring in. The Tennessee girl encourages herself to "get that degree" if she hasn't already done so, but also recognizes that life is full of ups and downs.

"Remember it's been 10 years since I wrote this. Stuff has happened good and bad, that's just how life works and you have to go with it."

Taylor's words should teach us all how precious life really is, and to appreciate every day we've been given. R.I.P., Taylor.
