Miguel Cabrera leads the Tigers in home runs and runs batted in, so the last thing a Tiger fan wants is for him to get injured in a game that doesn't mean much.  Cabrera injured his right oblique area on a checked swing in the 6th inning, and came out of the game the next inning.

Cabrera says that it isn't serious and that "If this were a regular season game, he would have continued to play."  He expects to be in the Tiger lineup Friday night against the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park.  Let's hope he's right, as this type of injury can sideline a baseball player for months if any serious damage has been done.

In case you were wondering, the National League All Stars won the game 5-1.  That means the National League team that reaches the World Series in October will have home field advantage.  Let's hope the Tigers get a chance to worry about that.

The Tigers are in first place in the American League Central division by 1/2 game over Cleveland.  Chicago and Minnesota are both within striking distance.
