Well, the invitation has been made! Earlier this month, President Barack Obama showed off his vocal chops, busting out Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" during a fundraiser at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Shortly after that, American Idol Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe invited Mr. Obama to appear on the reality show, tweeting:

Don't quit your day job! President Barack Obama broke into song last night at the Apollo theater in Harlem, and busted out a couple of lines from "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green. Add this to "Obama's Greatest Hits" which also includes his version of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" which went viral a few weeks ago.
