Over $700,000 Raised for Family of Boy Thrown From Mall Balcony [VIDEO]
A GoFundMe page established for the family of a boy who was thrown from the third-floor balcony of the Mall of America has surpassed its goal of $500,000.
Bloomington, Minnesota Police Chief Jeff Potts said the boy fell about 40 feet.
"The child is still alive. He's receiving care. I think we're just asking for your thoughts and prayers for that child to recover."
A 24-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide in the case. Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda is said to have no connection to the victim or his family. He had previously been banned from the mall.
"We feel confident in saying that the suspect threw the child off of the third floor," said Potts. "But as to why he did that is still something we're looking into and trying to figure out."
This GoFundMe page has been set up in Landen's name. As of this writing, it has raised over $700,000 to cover the boy's medical expenses.
