This Michigan Girl Just Broke the Record for the World’s Biggest Feet
Move over, Shaq. Move over, Eric Kilburn. There's a fourth-grader here in Michigan with some pretty darn big feet, and she's on your tail.
By the way, if you don't recognize the name Eric Kilburn, he's a 14-year-old boy from Goodrich, Michigan who wears size 22 kicks - last week, we shared Eric's story and his family's struggle to get shoes that fit his ginormous feet.
Meet the Fourth-Grader With the World's Biggest Feet
Ruby Labuschewsky is a spunky 10-year-old from Jonesville, Michigan. (Jonesville is about an hour south of Lansing, in Hillsdale County.) Ruby's feet are the largest in the world for kids in her age and gender category.
What is it about kids in The Mitten State and big feet?
Luckily, Ruby is not self-conscious about her big feet. In fact, she has embraced the fact that her dogs are breaking records.
"I broke the record for biggest foot on a nine-year-old," she tells Lansing's Fox-47.
She Comes by it Honestly
Ruby's parents tell the TV station that they also have big feet.
"With her dad wearing a 13, and I wear a size 11," Ruby's mom Hanna Matheny said. "It was pretty much a given that she was going to have big feet. She wears my shoes."
Still, the record comes as a bit of a surprise to Ruby's father.
"I really didn't believe it at first," Ruby's dad Rob said. "I mean, there's been a lot of people on earth, and for my daughter—I still think it's wild when I think about it."
