I recently went to Haleakala Crater in Maui which sits 10,023 feet above the Pacific Ocean. Most people visit to get a glimpse of the breathtaking sunrise or sunset, I went for the stargazing. Unfortunately, the night we went the moon was extremely bright and it lit up the entire night sky. While it was awesome standing at 10,000 feet above sea level, it made it for terrible stargazing.
