Ten years ago I would have never entertained the idea of any type of cosmetic surgery, but I turned fifty yesterday and my views have changed....dramatically! Now, I would be open to just about anything to stop the clock or defy gravity. Except for this.

Botox, Liposuction, facelifts - almost anything imperfect about your body can be fixed by a visit to your plastic surgeon. "Tittooing", however, involves a trip to a tattoo parlor. The craze has been going strong overseas for awhile now, and is quickly gaining popularity here in the states. This procedure started as part of the breast reconstruction process for breast cancer survivors and has morphed into something that is purely cosmetic. Women who are unhappy with the size, shape and color of their nipples can have them enhanced through a tattooing procedure. According to Gail Proudman, a medical tattooist, "it's fashionable to have dark nipples."

The procedure called "tittooing" takes about two hours and can cost up to $1,800. Anesthesia is optional!
