The instincts and quick thinking of an Alaskan Airlines flight attendant helped save a teenage girl from human trafficking in 2011, according to a new report from KTLA.

Shelia Frederick knew something wasn't right. A disheveled teen was traveling with a well-dressed older man who wouldn't let Frederick address the girl. Her instincts told her something was off.

Frederick left a note for the teen in one of the plane's bathrooms. She responded, "I need help." When the plane landed in San Francisco, police were waiting.

The National Human Trafficking Hotline reports that human trafficking has increased by 35.7 percent in 2016. “If you see something, say something,” Frederick said.
