Earlier, we asked our listeners where their favorite places were to hang out in Flint. There are so many things to do, especially with several events taking place in the next month or so. With your help, we came up with your top favorite places to go. Check out what the majority of you said and see what we might have left out.

    Flint Farmers' Market

Several listeners listed the Flint Farmers' Market as one of the favorite places to go to. It's really nice because if you can't make it on Saturday's, they're also open on Tuesday and Thursday's and they usually have a variety of events going on. Thursday's at noon you can usually catch the chef's demo and sample a variety of food and let's not forget about the fresh produce and bakery items you can buy.

    Friday Night Art Walk

This was another favorite among listeners which happens on the second Friday of every month in downtown Flint. Several downtown businesses have art on display as well as food and entertainment going on. It's a nice opportunity to check out local artists and a chance to hang out downtown. The Greater Arts Council puts on this great event every month.

    Longway Planetarium

Another cool thing to do with the kids is the Longway Planetarium which is located in the Cultural Center. They have really cool star and laser shows and it's a great place to have a birthday party. They also host a variety of camps during the summer, including a recycle program coming up where the kids will create projects with recyclable material.

    The Whiting

I believe one of the listener responses for favorite places to hang out was The Whiting for their world class shows. I actually haven't seen a show there yet but I'm planning on going in the fall. They bring in a ton of great ones including the Bacon brothers, Brad Garrett and The Wizard of Oz. Tickets are on sale now for the upcoming season.

    Crim Festival of Races

Our last item on the list is the Crim Festival of Races which is Saturday, August 27. Several listeners said they don't participate but they like to go downtown and watch the race. It's really nice because they have plenty of activities going on for the kids and a tent full of food and beer for the adults after the race. It's also nice because you have a chance to sign up and be part of the weekly training groups to help you get ready for the race.
