Cops Remind Parents to Look for Edible Marijuana in Halloween Candy [VIDEO]
Since the beginning of time, parents have been urged to check their kids' Halloween haul for razor blades, pins, and other foreign material. Now police are warning parents to look for yet another danger: Edible marijuana.
Edibles often come in candy form and their packaging can look similar to regular candy. Anything that looks suspicious or looks like it's been tampered with should be discarded.
"Observe things very, very closely to look for anything that's unusual about the wrapping, if it is wrapped, or to see if it has been tampered with," Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon tells WDIV.
Parents are also urged to check the Michigan Sex Offender Registry before sending their kids out trick or treating.
