Volunteers Needed for 2nd Annual Downtown Flint New Year’s Eve Celebration
For the second straight year, the Flint Downtown Development Authority is teaming up with bars, restaurants, and Cars 108 for a New Year's Eve celebration and we need your help!
Chris Everson, General Manager for the Flint DDA, says last year the turnout was between 4,000 and 5,000 revelers. A tent was set up in the downtown flat lot and bars worked with the DDA to offer raffle tickets to encourage a downtown pub crawl. This year, bars will again work with the DDA by having no cover charge. The DDA is also setting up a larger, heated tent again in the flat lot. The festivites will run from 9 p.m. until midnight and Cars 108 will broadcast live. Party goers will have a chance to win a trip for two to Las Vegas and when the clock strikes midnight there will be a fireworks display.
Also, the DDA is looking for volunteers for the event. They are asking community, non-profit and charitable organizations to volunteer. The DDA will donate $5 to each organizations cause for each hour worked per volunteer. Some of the positions include ID checkers and beer/wine servers.
