University Of Michigan To Go Smoke-Free July 1st
University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman has approved the final report in implementation of the new smoke-free policy that goes into effect on all U of M campuses on July 1st.
All U-M facilities, buildings and grounds will be smoke-free, all parking structures and surface lots will also be smoke-free. Smokers can light up in private vehicles or on public sidewalks. The goal of the new policy is to promote a healthy campus. Faculty, staff and family members will be eligible for smoking cessation programs. Help for students wanting to quit will also be available.
