August 11th is "National Garage Sale Day," a day to turn the whole country into one giant shopping mall.  Or flea market.  If you've been accumulating a lot of "stuff" that is still usable but you haven't used it in a while, you might as well sell it and make a couple of bucks.

Some communities have restrictions on garage sales or yard sales, so be sure to check if you think you might live in one of those places.

TV shows like American Pickers and others of that ilk have sent more customers out to search for gold in the rubble.  If you're willing to search through piles and racks of other people's stuff, you never know when you might find something of great value (to you, anyway).

You won't have to go far to find one, but if you want to do an online search first, there are some websites you might find helpful.  www.garagesaletracker.com or www.yardsalesearch.com might lead you to your "diamond in the rough."
