A Long Island school district has released a summer reading list which is riddled with more than 30 spelling errors.

'The Great Gypsy' by F. Scott Fitzgerald might be a good read this summer. Or perhaps students will opt for works by George Ornell or Frederick Douglas? (Correctly expressed as Gatsby, Orwell and Douglass)

Proofreading is clearly a dying art.

Long Island Newsday reports that a school official cites an unstable administration as the cause.

"It indicates again that a stable administration is absolutely essential for kids to get the kind of education they need. Hempstead has not had a stable administration for a long time and the kids are suffering."
