An organization called Time to Revive, with a goal of helping to revive Flint, says they're done for now. The group has been here for nine days as part of an outreach to help make Flint a safer place.

According to ABC-12, the group's goal is to combat crime by simply walking the streets and talking to people. reviveFlint have made a pretty big impact in the city according to the recent report from ABC-12 volunteers stated:

"'Everyone calls us the 'green shirts," Time to Revive member Kyle Martin said. "We've covered almost 11,000 homes.'"

Also some local residents chimed in with their impression of the group:

"'They found me out on MLK at a liquor store, coming out of a liquor store, playing my lottery," Mount Morris resident Chester Coburn III said.'"

"'This is the first time in 26 years that I've been here that I've seen churches really coming together," said Gary Curell from Heather Creek Church. "We're here for one purpose and that's to reach the people of our city.'"

A celebration will be held tonight at Perani Arena and Event Center from 6:30 to 9:30PM.

I think this is an amazing thing for a group from Texas to come here to try to help out with the problems that are going on in the city. Their goal was to help out with crime and get volunteers in the city to raise awareness in the neighborhood's. So far, 26 people have signed on to oversee the city and continue what this group started. Once this gets going, even more people could get involved to try to prevent more crimes from happening.

Do you think this was a good idea for this group to come to Flint? Do you think it will make a difference?
