It was election day yesterday so hopefully you made it to the polls. It looks like Mayor Dayne Walling and former City Administrator Darryl Buchanen will face off in the November election, with Walling winning by a two to one margin, according to the Flint Journal.

Walling had 5,513 votes, Buchanen had 2,788 and Scott Smith took third with 2,459 votes. Walling was very happy with the news:

'"I’m very proud of receiving such a strong vote of confidence from Flint citizens. It has been a difficult two years but clearly voters are behind me and my team and want to see me continue in this position.'"

Buchanen also had some words to share with his supporters at his campaign headquarters:

'"I know we can have victory, adding that he plans to be out campaigning and knocking on doors Wednesday. I’m going to sleep tonight but I’ll rest in November.'"

The general election will be held on November 8. We'll have Mayor Dayne Walling in the studio next week so we'll talk to him about his future plans for the city.
