‘American Idol’ is turning to one of its former contestants to try and help save the troubled show.Idol alum and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has signed on as a judge for next season. Producers have been determined to make changes to the show that hit an all-time low in the rating this past season, and signing former fan favorite Hudson could do just that. Plus, there are rumors that other Idol alums – Kelly Clarkson, Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken – could join the panel for next season.

Would former contestants help the show return to its glory days? Would they better help the contestants?
