Flint Police Department to Host National Night Out Event

As part of a national effort to bring neighborhoods together to take a stand against crime, the Flint Police Department will host a National Night Out event this week.

The event will feature live entertainment, bounce houses, face painting and games, hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream along with some giveaways of backpacks filled with school supplies and bicycles. The Flint Fire Department's "smokehouse" safety demonstration and other displays will also be on site.

Those teaming up with the Flint Police Department for the event are Target, the Michigan State Police, the Police Athletic League, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint and the public safety departments from Mott Community College, U of M - Flint and Baker College.

The National Night Out event begins at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5th on the lawn behind the Flint Police Department. For more information, visit the event's Facebook page here.
