The fireworks will fly higher and longer than ever before at Monday's 10pm show in downtown Flint. The Flint Downtown Development Authority is sponsoring the downtown show this year and has added "high-burst' fireworks that can be seen from an even greater distance. Monday's fireworks are one of two scheduled this weekend in Flint.Fireworks will also be part of the "Fights and Fireworks" event at Atwood Stadium on Saturday night. The downtown show is expected to be one of the biggest in history with a show that will last longer than previous years. Other fireworks shows are planned in Clio, Corunna, Fenton, and Lapeer.
