Fall Activities in Flint – Erin’s Top Five
Summer went by way too fast and the holidays will be here before you know it. But before that happens, why not take advantage of some great fall activities for the entire family. I did a little research and came up with a few ideas of things to do outdoors while the weather is still nice. If I missed anything, feel free to add other events and activities.
I have to say there is nothing better than going to an apple orchard in the fall. Nothing beats warm doughnuts and cider after spending some time picking apples. Montrose Orchards also has hayrides and pumpkin fantasyland tours for school field trips. Keep this in mind if your child's teacher is trying to think of something fun to do this fall.
Halloween Ghosts and Goodies at Crossroads Village
Once again, Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad has provided another great event for the fall. Halloween Ghosts and Goodies includes magic shows, hay mazes, Huckleberry ghost town as well as providing candy and doughnuts throughout the village. I love going to Crossroads and this activity is perfect for the kids.
I actually haven't had a chance to go to Wolcott Orchards, but I'm told that this is another place to try this fall. In addition to selling pies, cider and doughnuts, they also provide tours and hayrides. Or if you need a place for your next company picnic then you may want to think about holding it at the orchard.
Football Games at Atwood Stadium
Another favorite fall activity of mine is going to football games. What's even better is you don't have to go far to watch one because Atwood Stadium hosts weekend games for Flint Community Schools and the UM Flint Club. All home games are held throughout the fall. If you haven't been to Atwood in a while, this is your time to take the family for some football action.
Weiss Farms Frankenmuth Corn Maze
If you're up for a short road trip to Frankenmuth, stop by Weiss Farms Frankenmuth Corn Maze for some fun for the entire family. Corn mazes always remind me of the fall and this corn maze is over five acres with a chance to go through three different mazes. There's also other activities going on this fall at the farm including dairy farm tours, trick or treating, pumpkin painting contest and more.
