Davison Sex Offender Offers Castration for Himself

A Davison man, facing a decade in prison for child pornography, has made an unusual request: he's offering to have himself chemically castrated.

55-year-old Lary Hocken pleaded guilty over the summer to possessing child pornography. He admitted to downloading more than 2,000 photos, some of which depicted violence against children.

His attorney has informed the judge that he is willing to undergo chemical castration while in prison, in an effort to diminish his sex drive.

With chemical castration, the patient takes drugs that alter hormones to ultimately kill their sex drive. However, it hasn't been made clear how long Hocken would be taking the drugs, or who would pay for them.

Hocken is scheduled to be sentenced in Flint on October 14th.
