I do this every weekend. I don't check email, turn on my cellphone, and I let the answering machine take phone calls for me. I spend time with the ones I love, enjoy time in Michigan's great out of doors, and seem to be better off for it.

A group is encouraging you to "go off the grid" for 24 hours this weekend.

"National Day of Unplugging" is the brainchild of an organization called Sabbathmanifesto.org
and they urge you to "unplug" for 24 hours beginning at sundown on Friday, March 23rd until sundown on Saturday, March 24th.

Can you survive a day without technology?

Can you interact with others face-to-face? Without checking your Facebook? Email? Twitter?

Here's hoping that some of you will give it a try for at least one day.
