The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that work will begin on I-69 in Genesee County this week. MDOT says they will be making pavement repairs on I-69 between M-15 and Center Road, as well as constructing temporary crossovers and widened shoulders in preparation for next year's reconstruction project. Work will also include repairs to the CSX Railroad, Averill Avenue and Center Road bridges.

MDOT says the work is part of a larger road and ramp reconstruction project on I-69 from Dort Highway to Center Road, as well as work to replace the M-54 bridge, which was moved to 2015. Next year's work will also include replacing I-69 freeway lighting from I-475 to Center Road and installing modern traffic signals at the I-69/M-54 and I-69/Center Road interchanges.

Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday. For a complete look at the project map, visit: https://goo.gl/maps/uFu4x
